Responsible for the overall management of assigned customer programs. Creates and fosters teamwork principles for the multi-disciplinary team they lead. Monitors team progress and takes necessary action to insure overall project success. Scope of responsibilities includes all combinations of components, systems, and full platform programs.
Establishes program timing. Creates time lines for overall program activities, including all phases of program development and (APQP) Advanced Product Quality Planning requirements. This task requires at minimum, weekly time line reviews to ensure required tasks are completed as scheduled.
Coordinates multi-discipline team activities. Ensures that responsible resources are assigned to activities defined by the overall program time line and all APQP elements.
Monitors and reports customer program ongoing status. Advises responsible Cooper and customer representatives of concerns associated with the program.
Communicates program requirements to all persons responsible for performing selected tasks (i.e. tooling, drawing, components, gauges, APQP requirements, etc.). Communications includes distribution of meeting minutes, open issues, time lines, etc.
Monitors (PDR) Product Development Request progress for assigned programs. All PDR’s will be monitored and appropriate persons will be advised if actions are required or dates are in jeopardy. PDR’s will be tracked for parts as well as test data, drawings, prototype quotes, etc.
Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with the core team and Cooper management to ensure program status issues are communicated. Open issues will be discussed at regularly scheduled meetings. Persons will be assigned and dates established for concern resolution to ensure timely closure. Regularly scheduled meetings include confirmation prototype meetings prior to production, tooling kick-off, and post launch meetings to discuss “things gone right/things gone wrong”.
Attends required customer meetings and maintains/distributes effective meeting minutes to affected persons and Cooper management.
Schedules Cooper design review meetings with the appropriate persons at appropriate program stages.
After receiving a copy of any program – specific (RFQ) Request For Quote) from the Sales Account Executive, tracks progress/completion as part of normal program issues.
